A geometry nodes-powered bitmap tracer for blender. Turn your bitmaps into geometry. The options are as follows:

Input:

  • Input image: your image (load it anywhere in Blender first and it will show up here).
  • Resolution X/Y: the resolution of the grid. Higher resolutions will give more accurate results for finer details at the expense of more geometry.
  • Hue min/max: specify color range minimum and maximum for red/green/blue to reduce the color range of your image making it easier to trace. This doesn't refer to the final colors, just the color ranges at which to split the image.
  • You can also specify the color levels/steps.
  • Use alpha will remove transparent parts of the image.
  • Check "preview image" to see how color ranges and steps affect your image colors before processing.

Output:

  • Smoothing iterations: how much your resulting traced edges will be smoothed.
  • Merge by distance: vertices closer together than this value will be merged.
  • Remove smaller islands: Islands with total face area smaller than this number will be removed.
  • Offset Z by face area: This will sort resulting parts of the mesh by their face area, then offset them along Z from larger to smaller (see cover picture).
  • Edges only: This will output edges only with no fill (see example picture).
