An effect to make objects appear/disappear in rings of swirling lights that follow the object's contours.
How to use: Just append the "swirl" node group, add a geometry nodes modifier to your object, and pick the "swirl" node tree you just appended. This effect works best with bloom enabled (glare node in blender 4.2+), but not with motion blur.
Options:
- Axis: The axis around which the swirls rotate.
- Velocity: The speed of the rotating swirls.
- Density: the distribution density of the swirls.
- Randomness: Gives the swirls random noise.
- Normal offset: 0 will make the swirling trails right on the object surface. Larger values will move them away along the surface normals.
- Lifetime: Larger lifetimes will lead to longer trails.
- Start frame: the start frame of the effect.
- End frame: the end frame of the effect.
- Base color: the base color of the light swirls.
- Color shift: Make the particles go through different hue variations on top of the base color.
- Fade out: make the object disappear instead of appear.
